Fiberdom is a Finnish materials innovation company behind Duranova® — a 100% plastic-free, functionalized fiber material engineered for performance, lightweighting and recyclability. Founded in 2019 and operating a commercial pilot facility in Vantaa, Fiberdom is scaling its fiber functionalization technology and Duranova® material for packaging, food-contact and durable applications.
Duranova® is not conventional fiber material. Through Fiberdom’s proprietary fiber functionalization technology, strength, formability, humidity resistance and durability are engineered directly into the fiber network — not applied through coatings, laminates or synthetic binders.
The result is a 100% plastic-free, monomaterial that enables converters to do more with less. Lower grammage. Better forming capability. Full compatibility with existing paper recycling infrastructure and certified for home compostability.
Fiberdom’s technology integrates into existing industrial production processes without significant capital investment or equipment modification. Pilot-scale trials have confirmed runnability, repeatability and processing stability.
Duranova® is commercially available today, with home compostable cutlery already on shelf with major Finnish retailers.
